Much of the news related to health has been about “pandemic preparedness,” but not because pandemics are killing the most people, though it is because pandemics — actually pandemic “responses” — can lead to the most profit and power. Pfizer and Moderna “made bank” the last time around.
But if health departments were about health, then they’d stop prioritizing “pandemic preparedness” so much. If health departments were about health, then they’d focus on the top 3 killers:
The top 3 killers of human beings, at least in the United States, are Heart Disease, Cancer, and Preventable Injury. While Heart Disease and Cancer are obvious causes, Preventable Injuries have to be broken down to their 3 largest components:
The top 3 reasons people die from a Preventable Injury are because of Poisoning (mostly unintentional drug overdoses), Motor Vehicle accidents, and Falls. The Poisonings account for almost half of all the 227,644 deaths from Preventable Injuries:
But Poisoning did not used to be such a big killer in the United States. Check out how fast the Poisoning death rate was increasing, especially in males, after a socialist administration of U.S. government had created the socialized medicine plan called the “Affordable Care Act” — giving government more control over medicine:
And even the CDC admits that, in those under age 45, it is the unintentional injuries that are far-and-away the biggest killer, swamping all other causes of death:
If you watch their time-lapse of top causes of death and pay attention to the last 3 years, you won’t be able to “unsee” what it shows. So, to recap, the top 5 things that health departments would focus on if they were about health — rather than being almost exclusively about profit and power — are:
Heart Disease
Cancer
Poisoning
Motor Vehicle accidents
Falls
Cerebrovascular accidents (strokes) and chronic lower respiratory diseases like bronchitis and emphysema could be interjected above, due to beating the individual subcategories of Preventable Injuries, producing this version:
Heart Disease
Cancer
Strokes
Chronic Lower Respiratory Diseases
Poisonings
… but even still, the item called “pandemic preparedness” still doesn’t even make the “short list” of what it is that health departments would be worried about — if they were truly about human health.
But how much do you want to bet the “pandemic preparedness” will still have 10 times the spending and 10 times the focus by “health departments” as these other, more important, killers?
