When Barry Sears wrote the diet book, Enter The Zone, he prefaced it by saying that when talking about three things — religion, politics, and nutrition — there is virulent controversy and emotions run high.
But even if it is so “socially dangerous” to talk about nutrition, it’s now too risky not to. People, more than ever before, must become aware of how to keep themselves healthy and out of hospitals.
Three Diets
Three diets to look into are the Mind Diet, the Paleo Diet, and the Zone Diet.
Mind Diet
Here is an outline of a diet that not only has been shown to stave off Alzheimer’s disease, but to improve immune function:
Notice how green leafy veggies like spinach and kale are specifically named to be added daily. Also notice how berries, like blueberries, are specifically named. Also notice how olive oil is the only fat promoted.
Another diet that is heavy on green veggies and berries is the Paleo Diet:
Paleo Diet
Pay attention to the similarities and differences.
Zone Diet
If neither of those two former diet suggestions suits you, a third choice is the Zone Diet which has similarities to both Mind and Paleo.
Dietary Supplements
Another thing to look into is dietary supplementation. From a recent review, here are 24 things for you to look into:
acetyl-L-carnitine, Aloe vera polysaccharides, beta-glucans, bilberry, black seed oil, coenzyme Q10, curcumin (turmeric), frankincense, garlic, ginger, hydrolyzed rice bran, isoflavones, lipoic acid, mistletoe, N-acetyl cysteine, omega-3 fatty acids, resveratrol, selenium, shiitake mushroom and its derivatives, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), Vitamin E (d-alpha- and gamma-tocopherol), and zinc
Of these 24, those which may prove especially useful for acute respiratory infection are garlic, NAC, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and zinc — along with quercetin (not shown above). This “short list” in alphabetical order would be:
garlic
N-acetyl cysteine
quercetin
Vitamin C
Vitamin D
zinc
That’s six things that can really make a difference when fending off acute respiratory infections.
It’s important that we are able to fortify our own immune systems, especially now that medicine-based tyranny has been used against us. For early care of suspected respiratory infections, visit AAPSonline.org to download the McCullough protocol.
