In this Substack, I showed how getting the COVID jab makes you twice as likely to die if hospitalized for COVID. But data from CDC were reported in such a vague manner that interpretation gives you (them) wiggle room regarding the proportion of elderly — who are at more baseline risk than the young.
To explore the possible fraction of elderly in each data set, the one prior to jabs, and the one for breakthrough infections showing at least doubled hospital mortality, here are the notes:
To test the worst-case scenario, where all breakthrough hospital deaths were in those of age 80 or over, I created simultaneous 90% confidence intervals around the proportion or rate of death in the 80+ group of the dataset before jabs rolled out. Cell I11 (green) shows the upper bound hospital death rate in the age 80+ group before jabs rolled out.
Cell H19 (orange) shows the lower bound hospital death rate in breakthrough hospitalizations overall. Findings are statistically significant even in this worst-case scenario — indicating that COVID jabs really do make you more likely to die if hospitalized for COVID.
