In the age group from 40 to 44 in the USA, mortality was set back by 46 years in 2021:
The death rate for those of age 40 to 44 in 2021 reached 3.25 per 1,000 (325 per 100,000), a level that had not been seen in that age group for 46 years, all the way back to 1975. Because COVID shots rolled out by 2021, they are the most-likely cause.
The 2021 death rate was 50% higher than the mean of the 2015-2019 death rate.
