NOTE: the snippets below come from a document written a century ago, when the terms that got used in order to describe someone’s race or ethnicity differed from what they are today
In 1925, American Communists were orthodox Marxists, only dividing society up into two classes:
the exploiters (bourgeoisie)
the exploited (proletariat)
But on 26 Oct 1928, they switched to Identity Politics, instead:
The arrogance of Marxists is on display here: They get to redefine people, at will.
By adopting the position to define people by their skin color, instead of whether or not they were wealthy and ruthless exploiters of others, the tactics of Communism had changed, approximately 80 years after Communism had gotten popularized by Karl Marx.
For instance, even though, under Communism, you do not have self-determination — because you must work for the good of others, and not merely for the good of yourself, or of your own family — it was accepted that it is still useful to “soft-sell” the notion of self-determination, as a means to trick others into adopting Communism:
Item 6 is important above, because it shows that Communists were bean-counters: They did the simple math and found out that they could coopt the dreams and aspirations of two million people in order to advance the Communist agenda of a world socialist government (and then a withered-away state; i.e., Communism).
