When I've attempted to bring up conversations regarding 4IR, older people seem to just want to ignore and enjoy the rest of their lives. Younger ones embrace the cashless part, using phone apps. Only when travel is restricted will they start to question. Regardless of whether people know or understand, what can people actually do about it?
We'll have to be vigilant. One option is to never purchase anything online. Another is to only ever purchase anything with cash. Another is to always leave your cellphone at home (never travel with it). Many others can be found by attending Glenn Meder's webinars.
An amusing story of citizen pushback against police license-plate readers which patrol the parking lots of gun shows so that all cars can be recorded (and presumable so that the people who go to gun shows can then be harassed by the government), was when a guy got the funny idea to paint license plate numbers literally all over his own car.
When the license plate readers pass by his car, they are swamped with tons of misinformation, slowing down the government's ability to handle the data.
